"The palate has sweetness, followed by mineral overtones enhanced by toasty oak, and firm flavours with a long and savoury finish. This is a gem of a wine, with ageing potential of five to eight years from most vintages."

Ripe raspberry and strawberry, violet flowers, subtle clove and nutmeg, with just enough silky tannin present to elongate the finish and dry out the fruit sweetness. The acid is driving but not austere, and the oak adds lovely texture alongside the baking spices. It's hard not to finish the bottle once you've opened it, beware!
